Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 2025
TL;DR
Your files never leave your device. All PDF processing happens entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. We do not upload, store, or have access to your files. We don't use cookies, trackers, or analytics. We don't collect personal data. This is a privacy-first tool by design.
1. Data We Collect
We collect nothing. Online PDF Editor does not collect, store, or process any personal data. There are no accounts, no registration, no cookies, no analytics scripts, and no tracking of any kind.
2. File Processing
All PDF processing is performed entirely within your web browser using WebAssembly and JavaScript libraries (pdf-lib). Your files are never transmitted to any server. They remain on your device at all times. Once you close the page, all file data is automatically cleared from memory.
3. Cookies & Local Storage
We do not use cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, or any other browser storage mechanism. There is nothing to opt out of because nothing is stored.
4. Third-Party Services
We do not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only external resources loaded are:
- Google Fonts (Inter typeface) — loaded from fonts.googleapis.com
- jsDelivr CDN (for some JavaScript libraries)
These are loaded for functional purposes only and do not track users.
5. Hosting & Infrastructure
This website is hosted on static hosting infrastructure (Vercel/Cloudflare Pages). Our hosting provider may collect anonymized server logs (IP addresses, user agents) for security and DDoS protection. These logs are not accessible to us and are governed by the hosting provider's privacy policy.
6. Children's Privacy
This service is not directed at children under 13. Since we collect no personal data from anyone, there is no risk of inadvertently collecting data from children.
7. Changes to This Policy
If we ever change how this service works (e.g., adding optional server-side processing), we will update this policy and clearly communicate the changes. The current "all in-browser" approach is a core design principle.
